Assam's Quest for Clean Energy Revolution

Ambitious Goal: 3,000 MW of Renewable Energy

Assam has set its sights on becoming a leading player in renewable energy generation, with a bold target of generating 3,000 MW of clean energy by 2030. This ambitious plan was announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma during a recent visit to Seoul, South Korea.

"We are eager to partner with enterprises who can help us meet this goal and also train a skilled workforce to service our growing RE industry," Sarma stated.

Collaboration with South Korean Energy Giant

Sarma met with key executives from South Korea's GS Group, a leading renewable energy firm, to discuss opportunities for collaboration. The Chief Minister expressed Assam's interest in partnering with companies that could contribute to the state's renewable energy goals.

Learn from the Best: Visit to Seoul's Techno Valley

During his visit, Sarma took the time to visit Pangyo Techno Valley, known as South Korea's Silicon Valley. This innovative hub houses startups and entrepreneurs specializing in various technology fields. Sarma was particularly impressed by the collaborative ecosystem that fosters interdisciplinary innovation.

"An ecosystem that fosters such diverse collaboration results in exceptional innovation," Sarma remarked.

Invitation to Investment Summit

Sarma also extended an invitation to Seoul Viosys, a semiconductor and LED technology company, to participate in Assam's upcoming Advantage Assam investment summit. This event will provide a platform for the state to showcase its potential to investors from India and abroad.

Commitment to Semiconductor Ecosystem

Assam is actively seeking to attract major semiconductor players to the state. Sarma emphasized Assam's commitment to providing an attractive business environment, including a satellite township and support from the government.

"From an upcoming satellite township to the highest level of support from our government, we are committed to welcoming all major semiconductor players," Sarma said.

Engage with Startups

To conclude his visit to South Korea, Sarma toured a startup campus in Pangyo Techno Valley. He interacted with various stakeholders to understand the South Korean startup ecosystem and explore potential collaboration opportunities.

"I am keen to ensure collaboration between entrepreneurs & startups in Assam and Pangyo Techno Valley and we'll take this forward in the coming days," Sarma said.
